Links to other Vaughton Sites

You’ve probably arrived here from our own Vaughton Family History pages.   If not, you can follow this link to reach them.

A branch of our Vaughton family lived in Birmingham, in the Bordesley area.  A local pub guide notes:  “The legacy of the Vaughton family can be found in many of the street names in Highgate and Bordesley.  Robert Darwin Vaughton married Mary Ann Dymoke and their son Robert Dymoke Vaughton married Emily Boultbee.  You’ll notice that there is a Vaughton Street, Dymoke Street, Darwin Street and Emily Street”.   Nearby a claypit known as “Vaughton’s Hole” was filled in in the nineteenth century and cheap housing erected:  it was, according to a local church history, “one of the most squalid and vicious districts in Birmingham”.

A John Vaughton was a notable Quaker preacher in the seventeenth century.

And of course there’s a wealth of other sites on the web to help you with your Vaughton and other genealogical researches.
