WILLIAM WARD (bef. 1700 - aft. 1716)

William Ward married Hannah (surname unknown) and had at least four children, all baptized at St Giles’, Reading – William in 1717, Thomas in 1718, Robert in 1720 and Hannah in 1722.

 
THE CHILDREN OF WILLIAM  (bef. 1700 - aft. 1716)

William’s first child, William, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading, on 30 April 1717.  Nothing further is yet known of him.

William’s second child, Thomas, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading, on 3 June 1718.  He  married Jane Nun in 1743 and had six children: Rebekah in 1748, Philip in 1749, Benedicta in about 1752, another Rebecca in 1754/5, Thomas in 1757 and Charles in 1760 (details below)

William’s third child, Robert, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading, on 23 August 1720;  and his fourth, Hannah, on 24 January 1722.  Nothing further is yet known of them.

THE CHILDREN OF THOMAS  (1718 - aft. 1747)

Thomas’ first child, Rebekah, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading, on 27 April 1748 and buried there on 26 May of that same year.

Thomas’ second child, Philip, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading, on 8 November 1749.  Nothing further is yet known of him.

Thomas’ third child, Benedicta, was baptized at St Giles’, Reading in 1752.  She married Robert Smith in Teddington in 1773.  They had ten children: John born in 1774, Mary baptized in 1775, Robert in 1776, Charles in 1780, John in 1782, Sally in 1783,William in 1785, Thomas born in 1787, Betsy baptized in 1791 and Jane born in 1795.  Robert senior died in 1827 and Benedicta in 1839, still in Teddington.

Thomas’ next three children were all baptized at St Laurence’s, Reading:  Rebekah on 7 January 1755, Thomas on 23 May 1757 and Charles on 16 May 1760.  Nothing further is yet known of them.
