The (da Costa) Andrade family is being assiduously resarched by a number of its members, who have been generous in supplying me with the fruits of their labours.  [Details will follow here shortly.]

At some point I hope to find the original link between the da Costas and the Andrades, to which the combined surname testifies.  Some members of the da Costa Andrade family in the twentieth century claimed descent from Moses da Costa, the great seventeenth century banker.  (This looks unlikely, but may preserve the memory of descent from the Da Costa family of which Moses was a later representative.)
